Dragonball Z Dragonball Bowling Ball

Blogger Postcards from the World 2

food bloggers amaze me every time. (Is there a German term for "food blogger"?) Not only do they cook always glorious food, that I would never even try to cook, no, they blog about it and still take fantastic images. My experiments in photography is at best mediocre and * cough * blogging my attempts on food are not worth mentioning. (What I of course not preclude here to link to my entry about the Mega Menu-Mailer . Yes, that's me. Take a plastic bag from the freezer, thaw on the whole thing cook still half frozen and is delighted when something halfway edible happens.)

I'm Meeta's blog stumbled at BlogHer because in Germany lives. And she's not just a "food blog" (and really stunning images, it is also the initiator of " Blogger Postcards from the World . I am glad to join now for the second time in it.

This time, she has a given topic: "Valentines". I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day-because it - seems to be an invention of the flower wholesalers - at least in Germany. But as we Germans love everything American, he is now, of course, also celebrated here. On the other hand, my feelings about crass commercialization times aside, shoving, it's always good to spread some love in the world and so I decided to make their own Valentine's card to a still unnamed permanent recipient will be sent . At first I thought I just paint a big heart and write something about it, I could not find a red Edding. Then I thought, I look sometimes at Flickr and find me a nice photo. There I saw an image appear on the were different postcards and turned my thoughts to my Peanuts collection. Ha! What would be better than a homemade Peanuts Valentine card. Then my son came back from the neighbor boy, life was held again today and I had to start over.

I went out and bought a postcard that you can see here:

Just like the one I had sent the first BPW will travel out halfway around the earth. But I tell you not to go. All the bloggers on the list are now writing about their sent postcards. Then we wait. In a few days or so, anyone who get one postcard has, blog about it. And then you can see who has got my. Or who has sent me a postcard. I hope my postcard arrives safely. Right now my husband is on his way to post.

What you can see that I have been teaching more than before

I'm really happy to have more students. Really. More students means more money. I do not have to look at every penny. And I enjoy teaching. But you can also see that some things have suffered in my life. The blog for example. Since I constantly publish anyway, To Do lists, I daachte, I make it this time something more visual. So, one can see the following things that I teach more:

My congas, waiting to be photographed zuwerden so I can sell them. (Anyone interested in fantastic Michel Delaporte-congas. They are quite rare.)

View catalog, notes for my husband, books to reset the shelf. (I had the Terry brought Pratchett book because of a quote about the "Monks of Cool," because I wanted to write about being cool. Well, that quote was then in another book, as I was told because the Internet and found the blog entry not at all.) receipts to enter in the computer for the budget-planning.

takes to stow away that my husband used to polish the already mentioned congas, so they look better in the pictures.

trash to empty. Just look at all this candy bar paper. Right where they can see all my students. Either I have taught the bucket is not in forever, and I now finally know why I have grown in recent time. Now we venture out of my room out into the living room:

New shelves for DVDs. I've screwed together, but they still have on the already existing be mounted.

did I get for christmas. I must have some of the new wire and hang it.

food: toast, which must be done in Gefriebeutel and must be frozen.

Basement: laundry, waiting for the folding and storing.

bedrooms: More laundry, ironing is needed, a glass that must be recycled, books, needs to get rid of me. Perhaps I can offer the children's books also for sale.

children: DIY projects and images in an orderly manner must be stored.

Sigh.

So now you know what I'm doing this weekend. What are you doing? I hope your weekend includes some family fun time.

And who knows, maybe there tomorrow is also a real post of mine. And you know what

, today is my birthday 1/2ster 39. Only six months left to -0.

sleep

If you go by how much I long for sleep lately, you would think I would have either a six-month-old baby in the house or sleeping. Neither is true. I'm not sure, but it could be that each of the last diary entry, uh, four years with the words "I'm so tired." begins. (Paper diary, not on-line thing, blog) Perhaps that is now in the place of my food obsession with the theme and feel self-fat-entered, who knows. Perhaps, and this thought comes to me just really for the first time, is the problem I have with sleep, from the same source as my previous eating disorder.

So. Sleep. Just thinking about it. forget the world around you, relax, dream, cuddle up under warm quilts. Happiness. So why do I never sleep enough? I could give my son the blame, it would be easy. And for years he was in fact the reason for my lack of sleep. But since around his second birthday he sleeps great with small problems only when he is sick. And for us completely unknown reason he wakes up regularly on Saturday one hour earlier than usual, but I've heard of children who wake up every day at half past six, I say nothing against him.

have to sleep with myself I actually have no problem. If I have the feeling that I have ever rolled up and down, fall asleep before I could, I informed my husband (the official back-and-Her tome in our family) that it only took about five minutes to get to I started snoring. (And yes, I snore frequently, I have a mold allergy, and therefore a permanent snotty nose.) No, if I'm in bed, everything is in order. I am the kind of sleeper who wakes up after a stormy night in the morning rested and when someone asks, "Was not that a terrible storm last night" replies, "What storm?" I come from a long line of people who sleep like rocks, my parents are known, that they wake up from nothing. I embed my head on the pillow and that's it until morning. If I had a particularly restless night, then I wake up and maybe look at the clock, or possibly go to the toilet. Then I go back and sleep on. This is a very useful gift. Particularly, if you have a sick child. Wake up, take care of the sick child, go back to bed, asleep. Ad infinitum. (Hey, I should have the answer to the question of the hidden talent in my last post. The ability to sleep under any circumstances.) Previously I was able to sleep even in the midst of people, light and noise, but this is one of the skills, I have lost with age.

the time when sleep was more precious was, of course, when my son was a little baby. When he was born, I thought to myself how amazing well I would cope but with the lack of sleep. I do not need much sleep and had great fear of ever- to be tired if I have a child. Well, the real lack of sleep came a little later. When I worked three days a week, yet he always nursed around the clock and then, when he was eight months old, was still teething, and he woke me up every hour to get me to use as a human pacifier. Very funny. At that point I was so tired that I dozed off when my husband was talking a break to catch his breath.

But that was long past, we dealt with the fact that dad pushed for two weeks on night duty with the Teeflasche, Mama, meanwhile, slept in the guest room and had only a 5 clock ran again in the morning (Silenced cultivation Hurrah!). That service would I can sleep enough. I did not, however. What I do is the following:

I'm tired all day and outside at regular intervals: ". I'm so tired, I'm so tired, but today I take a nap determined" Until it is time for naps and I think to do something important, how to read blogs. I will do it until my free time is over, spend the rest of the day with glassy eyes and tell about every half hour seriously: "But now I go to bed on time for sure!". After I took my son to bed very slowly, because I'm so tired, I go to my room, play a little piano and guitar, watch one episode "Buffy" or two, entertain me with my husband say, sincerely: "Of course I'm now in time to bed," rum Zappe, watch some stupid documentary about Playboy Bunnies or something am to 11 from the couch on Half an hour later go to bed and sleep until my alarm clock rings at a quarter to seven. And then all over again.

can tell you now what she is complaining because if I understand correctly, she sleeps all 7 1 / 2 hours. And nowadays everyone and his grandmother convinced that enough six hours and seven hours of sleep a lot are. I need the other hand, at least 8 1 / 2, better 9; hours of sleep for me too well and feel to have a functioning brain. And after all that I hear and read, I'm not alone. A friend recently said to me: "I do not know, I'm so tired and I sleep here every night, but six hours." Pff! I have a book (a book) "Outsmarting Female Fatigue: Eight Energizing Strategies for Lifelong Vitality" (Debra Waterhouse) which says that most women need an average of 8 1 / 2 hours of sleep. And that every 4-11 hours is normal. This does not mean that it is normal to sleep four hours, that is, it can be normal for you. But if you're tired, bad mood, always hungry and forgetful and regularly fall asleep in front of the TV, then maybe you need more sleep. And perhaps you are someone who takes 11 hours a day. Have you ever thought about it? Very inconvenient, but you can not help it. If you are not sleeping enough, you're tired.

exactly what I try to teach my son. If you're tired, you can eat as much as you want, it does not help. Only sleep helps. Since I have a child, I know the way, why people over eat when they are tired. Tired babies are breastfed to sleep. can society, cuddling, eating and sleep better so you also food here is so good for everything at once. As it about a year old, he has sometimes tried literally to eat in the bedroom. Nodded, chewing one. Enormous amounts of food stuffed in its little mouth. Since then I have seen at once, why I eat constantly when I'm tired. And then I eat at such times and still like more sugar, because you then additionally getting that sugar rush.

I'm a bit older than one year, I should have known better. I know better, I do not bare. So I give myself a sticker for every night when I'm in bed before eleven. For the past three years. Three years! I feel a bit silly. Uh, not just a bit. I invented a few tricks. I put make-up from me and my cream one, when I took my son to bed. I put on my pajamas before I check my show. I programmed my PDA so that it beeps when I go to bed must. I have asked my husband to remind me to please remember that it is time. And for every night when I am triumphantly crawled into bed before eleven, there are two, where I only stayed a little longer and then went to bed half an hour later. Or two hours.

I'm afraid I must clarify my priorities sometimes. Sleep. Is. Very. Important.

Or as I always tell my son: If you are tired, also makes the games not fun.

lot, I invite you to a round of afternoon naps.

Installing Aqua Tech Filters

you again, uh, sticks well to say the German

Ha, this time I was even formally requested to do so. Okay to ask someone, "And if you throw on the stick?" is about as subtle as jump around excitedly, waving wildly and "Take me, Take me!" to scream, but still, officially and personally. Oh, by Meno . Why I could not respond to a stick, where you do not have to think how the itunes- thing, I wanted to steal. So, questions and answers (and not even multiple choice).

first If you look at only a vice likely to choose, what would it be?
I did not know that they can choose their vices. I'm for excess. (I had "over-indulgence" written. Can someone tell me how to translate the best?) But I could have said beer. But this is no vice. Or?

second If you could change one specific thing in the world, what would it be?
all people I would give full consciousness and enlightenment. But I do not think the work that way.

third Which cartoon character do you identify yourself the most?
figure? Animation? I copy here of Meno and say Daria. I have the program while not regularly monitored, but I liked her very much.

4th If you live one day of your life once could, what would it be?
Well, only if someone forces me. Perhaps the first May 1994 when my future husband and I realized after our second date, was that we would stay together. It was spring, we went to the station hand in hand and sat on a bench to look at green and yellow fields. Sigh. Although, I'm not sure, I spent the rest of the day with working on my dissertation.

5th If you could go back in time and spend a day could relate to a historical figure, who would it be?
take a writer, I would have taken very much, but probably would have been not so interested to me, would be Carolyn Heilbrun.

6th What one thing you lost, sold or thrown away, did you'd be happy again?
Um. No regrets. New things are always so much more exciting.

7th What is your most important contribution in this world?
to teach people that they can be creative and that it also gives a different lifestyle than that, a "muggle" to be.

8th What is your hidden talent from which almost no one knows?
If I have one, then it is hidden to me. Although I could have a hidden talent for drawing. I never draw, so I'm not good at it, but if I concentrate, you can sometimes catch a spark of talent, inherited from my father and grandfather.

9th What is your favorite possession?
It has to do things, right? My piano. Although my computer is directly in second place. I've lived without computers and without piano. Without a piano was worse. But why should I have to choose? (And if I had the money, I would in a split second buy a new piano.)

10th Which person has influenced you as a young person in particular?
Obviously my mother. (If Meno finds this Exorcist, they should ask him to send me.) Second, perhaps Dorothy L. Sayers.

(I know that it was in the question only a human, I'm not stupid, I have listened, but virtually everyone is affected highly by his mother. To say anything else would be a lie. But my mother is not the man that has significantly shaped my thinking.)

11th What word describes you better than any other?
Confused? I am complex to some. Ah, no, now I have it: women. .

(Phew, a person with only one word to describe I'm certainly not a one-word-man, even if someone asks me for my zodiac sign, I say. "Lion with Ascendant shot, but I'm not very fiery, because Saturn I was on my moon in Aries and then there's this Stelium is up in my chart with all this scorpion's energy, but my family pretty fishy

...") Okay, done. Not so easy. So, everyone wants to have the feel of this stick, is thrown. Especially De and Liv that have to do is probably better. (Psst, and if you are too cool for "sticks" are? Ignore ' it simple.)

Heather I Deep Throat Streaming

I'm fine, I'm fine!

Only a few lines to let you know that I feel as good as normal. Thanks for concern and comments. Today I wanted to actually write something longer and more pro-depth, but the day was completely different than planned. Instead of writing and making music today, I spent the morning trying to do with my husband to go shopping and then eat Chinese. And then he made me very happy, saying: "You know, I told you no, but I though you criticize all the time, I love you just the way you are, even your mistakes.." Wow.

Cinplex Odeon Admission

still matt

(line, if you think you do not know when you can blog again, said a student. I hope that she soon goes well, but for me it's been a gift.)

I still feel a bit dull. Even though I have not written here, I have time to think. I I liked this sentence: "I have no time" anyway, because it's not true. I have made in recent days a lot, but I have not sat down and wrote. Maybe this is my punishment. I was on Thursday at a meeting of my writers group and all said: "I just do not know what to write in my blog." and I had to specify the same: "Ideas is to have never been a problem for me. You to pursue one is." So for all those still looking for a topic, I'm still a queue: disabilities, sleep, transition, life coaching, self-sacrificing mothers. If you liked one, you may like to write about it.

But now I write first about what concerned me most and that is depression. Perhaps this is also a "social justice " theme. It should definitely be one. (And anyway I do not know where the line between personal and social factors. Constantly go into each other.) I hesitate only because I am not feel directly qualified to write about depression. But I find no other word to describe the condition in which I find myself. This is like the problem that I had when I found out that I had an eating disorder. I saw a talk show in which a group described "addict eating" their eating habits. They described my eating habits closely. Except that I have not weighed 150 kilos. Bus think today most people who know me a long time that I am a hypochondriac when I call myself a former Esssüchtige.

So I have bipolar light extra-light. Whatever. There is a part of me that is currently deaf, deaf and wants to be a part of the permanently in a Corner sits and wraps his arms around. It feels like I was wading through mud and rolled a heavy stone up a hill, while I have a whirlpool in my stomach. I'm trying to feed the vortex of food, especially with chocolate. And stun him, as I stare at the computer or TV. My Engerie level is very low, I sleep badly, I eat more than usual, especially sweets, I'm in a bad mood and when my husband pointed me to something I've forgotten - and that happens very often right now - I'll break in tears.

And then there's the other part of me that the careful and attentive and the part is pretty happy. The new conscious part of me that loves the sunshine and still makes sports and the Budget, the part of me that is going out with friends and make jokes and be around and other care. That's odd. I have the sense all the time if I could just sink into this feeling very lucky, Wacker would melt stone in my stomach. How will he do it sooner or later sure he always does. It's not like I would be permanently depressed. As I've

still lived alone, I have explained myself in this state, just sick. I went to bed for days and not gotten up. I just went out to have more chips, gummy bears, licorice and to buy chocolate. I pulled all the way back. Now I have a family and that is no longer possible. I am very happy because it made me feel even worse if I do nothing. I feel better when I leave the house and into the woods. If I eat real food, my mood is lifted a bit.

In a comment to my last post Esereth has written that there are deeper reasons for depression and that I can kill you when I find out what it does. So far I have found only trigger: the visit to my parents, too little sleep, made some music, too much was inside, every day a sermon must consult about the end of the world (okay, that's an exaggeration). And who knows, maybe there is also a part of me that this feeling like it. I suspect that is the counterpart to that of a highly streamlined, efficient, goal-oriented living wills. The Hyper-Organisiererin in me. And fun I have not had enough. There is the voice in me that was once the voice of my mother (and in real life every now and again) that says, "What do you think who you are?" There is the fact that winter is the light and sparse. There is the fact that I am exhausted and overwhelmed. And there is the fact that I have for weeks in manic Overdrive mode was, without realizing it. This is usually the main factor.

So if there is a deeper reason, then perhaps that I should learn in this life, at last, to be more stable. I'm not good at it. I prefer living in education and breakdown. Working like crazy for weeks and then go to bed and do nothing for a few weeks. Am either the life of the party, shine, laugh, dance, sing and tell funny stories or stay at home and I am alone. I can do that I have often done enough. The only bad thing is that I am neither happy nor satisfied makes. So I need to learn the "boring" way. Den, where every day is like the one before. Where you can work all the time, Černý is the chance of any link.

I have a friend who told me she felt even slightly bipolar. I asked, "What are you doing about it?" She said she just try to enjoy the manic phases and treat the depression as good as they could. For me, I can not accept that. On the one true bipolar disorder is dangerous if left untreated. The depressions are longer and deeper and there are people who are suicidal. I do not think my mood swings I qualify for a real disorder. I'm sure if I'm hereby to a doctor, he would break . Laugh (And I have the tests done in my book about bipolar disorder, thank you.)

But there are not only healthy and sick. In between, there are gray areas. My first step is to accept that because I can not control anything. No will power can make me to feel happier. If I ignore it, it comes back and takes me about one. If I am convinced the same time that one can choose his emotions, I'm still not far so that I could do it consistently. And I think my main problem is to avoid the overdrive mode. So it's about: How can you tell if you're just slightly manic or much experience extreme? And if I have a suspicion that I'm in overdrive, that is, from everything I say? As the Christmas party at the kindergarten? A visit with my parents, my parents have to and my son got her for ages? Christmas? NaNoWriMo? And I can not ask my husband to help me because he already shows signs of exhaustion.

Thanks for listening. Today I go to bed on time. Promised.

The cries of the rapper

With some delay I have found two reviews in the newspapers two Cologne.

writes The Cologne Gazette on 09.01.2007

The cries of the rapper
A play about violence, racism and drug
young people from playing field in honor of Arkadas-Theater/Bühne cultures, what they experience in everyday life.
OF TOBIAS NEUHAUS
Ehrenfeld - At the last moment but then it comes - the fright. The end of October last year, the eight, mostly Ehrenfeld living in young people aged between 13 and 17 years started to prepare with the director Aysun Yintar-Vogel, Arkadas-Theater/Bühne of cultures, the song "Kool and Running with Scissors." Four times a week, the ensemble met for two hours to sample in the Civic Center, and the anticipation of the premiere was huge. But then, shortly before the performance, as more and more visitors come, as slips Rico mighty heart in my mouth. "I am suddenly very excited," admits the 15-year-old, "many of the viewers I know, yes, and there we have also afraid to embarrass yourself really." The theater is for most of the young people who are on this evening as guests, completely uncharted territory. If anything, they know it for trips, they have taken the class or with the Youth Club. stood on a stage before hardly any of them. And many of the young viewers who have come to see their friends playing in the headlights, the terms of such performances are anything but familiar. The artificial peace provoked catcalls. And act as the friend suddenly in white angel costumes and speak in a gentle voice of love and beauty, there is gemauschelt once and laughed. To show it takes a lot of courage and confidence. You can feel, but soon the audience is chuckling softly, silent very soon.
In the scenes there is
violence, racism, prejudice, tolerance and drugs - issues that the youth of the school, the youth center, known by the street are. The performers come from French, Turkish, Italian, German and Russian families. And as different as their cultural background is so diverse are the views, in which they present their daily life on the stage. Time the road is the scenery, sometimes a disco, the classroom or the kitchen of a Turkish family. That conflict situations adjusted, but no solutions are offered, part of the concept of the theater project "Kool and Krass. "In the play, we address the situation," says the director, "as one finds his way in them and in everyday life-oriented, that comes afterwards."

The workup followed in the next step. In pedagogical instructions advise the students what they saw, perhaps even find themselves in a similar way - and how to handle it best. The approach of the project is to raise awareness among young people in conflict situations and at the same time giving them the opportunity to develop their own solutions. "The project is young people help prevent violence and crime independently, "says Aysun Yontar-bird. help give the youth theater project of" Veedel Management Ehrenfeld, where Ilknur Alkan is maintained with the project management. The association that connects to the Ehrenfeld facilities, such as the Civic Center and the Nonni Club here, which attacked the ensemble in the planning and implementation of the project under the arms.

After the successful premiere of "Kool and Running with Scissors" the theater hopes to further performance opportunities. "The piece can be great at school plays, where it then subsequently in the classroom can be discussed, "said Lale Konuk, Executive Director of the Arkadas Theater. And the prospects are good. Even on opening night, teachers from schools in the neighborhood find out more about the project. Looks that way, would be as up behind the stage-fright soon.

The call of the nine young actors provided the audience in the Arkadas Theatre for spine-tingling feeling. The goal: "to raise awareness among children and young people for wrongdoing, and this term to change positively, "it said in a flyer that was distributed for entering free premiere drama teacher Aysun Yontar Bird said:".. Which took place before the packed stands. A difficult situation, especially head teachers, social workers and district representatives in the audience were critical, as well as classmates and friends. They too were impressed by the violence prevention unit enthusiastic and urged the players afterwards: "When you come to us?"

The message of the play had arrived. Away from drugs, violence, racism and intolerance. Towards more humanity and love. But: "You can not teach what one has experienced before." It had announced the three white-robed angels on swings. In this case, "Kool and Running with Scissors" just right. One school reported their interest already. Whether the juvenile Ensemble or engage their own students will work as an actor, is still unclear. Clearly, however, that the play offers an appropriate introduction to the conflict training.

5 things you do not know about me and just post

Okay, today I have really little time (or even yesterday, tomorrow and the day I do not know if I'll translate this post yet, if so gets. He also has a German title, but I thought before I trust anything here write, I prefer that you all had English in school. Here's the post I had published yesterday on the English version of this blog:

First of all, today is the day of the very first "just post" awards.

I had planned to write a beautiful post about handicapped people, but then life got in the way and you'll have to wait for that one. Since the "just post" award is still very young, there has not been that much participation yet, but we'll just promote it in the months to come. Oh, and this award was the result of the big fat social wedding of Jen and Mad . Since I'm really pressed for time today (and since I've really been wanting to do this for quite a time), I consider myself tagged with the "5 things you don't know about me"-meme by Mir . (And when I say that you don't know these things I'm thinking of people only knowing me through the blog, not of people like my sister, though she reads this too.)

  1. I didn't drink a single drop of alcohol until I was 19 years old. I even refused to sip on something for social reasons. To this day my mother still is shocked, when she sees me drinking a beer. As Mir told about herself, I also was the designated driver for years, and was proud of my high morale standard. I felt very superior to people behaving like a typical drunk. I have to say, though, that even when drunk I never behave like a typical drunk. Like my husband, I only react by first being a little bit louder, then a blurring of speech, and then becoming a little more quiet.
  2. I smoked my very first cigarette when I was eight years old. Me and a couple of friends tried smoking behind a group of bushes in the woods. We felt really grown up and cool. Growing up in a smokers' household, I neither had to cough or got sick. I held and lit the cigarette like I had done this my whole life. When later I tried to get more cigarettes by stealing a pack or two from my parents, I was found out. Thus ended my career as a smoker. I tried again four years later, but decided not to smoke . I never regretted it.
  3. Every man I ever had sex with was a musician. At first I had a pattern of percussionist, bass player, percussionist, bass player, but then I wandered and dated a pianist and later a clarinet player. Also, I never know how you count it, when you're having an affair with two men at once. (I had an "open relationship" with the first bass player. Well, I can say this does not work for me.) The last one was also a bass player whom I then married. End of dating history so far, but, I'm grateful to say, not of sex.
  4. You know that when I studied music education my main instrument was - as it still is - voice, but what you don't know is that my second instrument used to be drums. (Now you know how I met the percussionists.) People who haven't seen me since that days still think of me as the drummer, but I haven't touched drums since the end of our Brazilian band seven years ago. (Anyone interested in buying my congas?)
  5. As I'm writing this, I'm depressed again. Not as in "not-functioning and nearly suicidal"-depressed, but as in "feeling as if there were a vortex inside of me sucking away most of my energy"-depressed. Since wondering if I maybe am slightly bipolar , I haven't had another "episode". Only things like PMS. Before Christmas my husband said he thought I might be in a "manic" state. Of course I wasn't, I only had a lot to do. Um. And I didn't feel like I was soaring high. I didn't take on lots of new projects. Mild overdrive due to circumstances. But since we returned from my parents I have been glued to the computer, checking e-mail about every other second, reading blogs and waiting for the evening which I spent in front of TV. Then going to bed too late, of course. And repeat. With the firm intention to do better the next day. And repeat. After four days of this, it dawned on me that this was not normal. I was feeling depressed. On Sunday I thought I had come out of it. Only to realize today that I'm still in it. The problem is, in a way, that I don't have times anymore where I declare myself sick despite a lack of symptoms and then spend days in bed. I'm no longer living alone, I have work to do, I have family. And I know that I don't feel better, when I'm staying in bed. So I get up, I make breakfast, I do minimal household chores, I talk to my family, I even am happy at times, but there's a part inside of me that has gone numb and wishes to stay that way. I know that eventually I will come out of it and that exercise, enough sleep, real food, cuddling and walks in the woods help. But I don't know what's happening. There are triggers, but there are no deep reasons. Weird.
So this is the reason, why I haven't posted, why I'm sounding a little off.

So this month I'll have to rely on others to change the world for the better. Please go and look at the just post awards. (And don't worry about me, please.)

Large Lump On Dog's Chest

Why I am perhaps still a bookworm

I got this year fantastic Christmas gifts, but not a single book. Since I had yet to think again. I was already clear that last year I had read fewer books because I had started every evening to watch DVDs. Just in case you're curious, I got a pen from my parents (it pays off just when people just say what you'd like), the "MirrorMask" DVD, a film that Dave McKean and Neil Gaiman together have made, had chosen my sister from Amazon wishlist and my husband surprised me - DVDs.

I knew he was this year with his gift to turn a lot earlier than usual was because he told me Our mission, not their e-mails, nor his Amazon account, nor his bank account to check. Then he added: "I could buy more of it than I thought." More what? I concluded that he had either bought me more Buffy DVDs or oracle cards, which were also on my wish list. Imagine how surprised and delighted I was when I unwrapped my gift and that the first and second season of "Deep Space Nine" took place. Yes, I am also a Star Trek fan and my husband and I are of the same opinion that "Deep Space Nine" the best of all Star Trek series is. (I know that we are completely alone in this opinion there.)

Back to the books. So I was sitting on Christmas Eve there and looked at my wonderful gifts and was confused. No book! Well, I thought, I'm probably not a bookworm more, now I am someone who enjoy watching films. Back home, I realized that there were still around a few more books. There is a pile on my desk, lots of bookshelves, maybe I had missed something. So I decided to register anzuschaien my books to find out how many books I have received in 2006 either purchased or donated. Yes, I have so many books that I manage by computer have to do to I do not buy or twice they never find again. Okay, are you ready? I got 2006 21 new books.

Then I thought, "What about the ebooks? It was a bit more complicated, because I did not cover in my file (which is strange when I think about it, as if they were not), but finally I had a number, I have bought ebooks 2006 9.

How many of these books I've read so? I have read 11 ebooks, because I also bought a couple of late 2005. Of the real books that I've got 2006, I have read 16th I started 5 or 6 more. The reason that I thought I'm not a man of books more, was that it is in most of these books dealing with non-fiction. I have read two books on finances, one of prosperity, three of coach Cheryl Richardson, a book about organization, two of relationships and how they improved ("Getting the Love You Want" is the great and another thing on my I can hardly remember that gave me a girlfriend. This book has me really brought nothing new.), a fitness book about T-Tapp, three books on songwriting (the third is an exercise book that I've barely started) two books on bipolar disorder, and an educational book (only one?) "Playful Parenting", which I can only recommend. And then I "Writing Down the Bones" and "Creativity rules!" re-read to prepare for NaNoWriMo. Phew. I'll spare you further details and titles. Now for the fiction, because that is what counts:

"Dark Tort: A Novel of Suspense (Goldy Bear Culinary Mysteries)" (Diane Mott Davidson)

I love the Goldy Bear detective stories for a long time but I have a feeling that they are a bit weaker. On the other hand, it is hard to write a series in which there are only good books. I do not think I'm going to read this book again.

"Strange Travelers: New Selected Stories "(Gene Wolfe)
So I'm still not quite finished. The stories are excellent, but not easy to read and it was not such a good idea to buy this book as an ebook.

" Destroyer (Foreigner Universe) "(CJ Cherryh)
I love every single book of the Foreigner series and they are getting better. I've been waiting impatiently for the next volume in paperback.

" Cat's Eyewitness (Mrs. Murphy Mysteries (Paperback)) "(Rita Mae Brown)
Okay, although I could not tell what it is. There is apparently a problem with detective series.

"First Meetings in Ender's Universe" (Orson Scott Card)
to read well, but I've actually read more so to have read everything in the final universe.

"Shadow of the Giant (Ender, Book 8) (Ender's Shadow)" (Orson Scott Card)

Very good.

"Mona Lisa Overdrive (Bantam Spectra Book)" (William Gibson)

I had decided to buy the entire Neuromancer trilogy once again in English. I had previously read only in German and was of the habit of the translator, unnecessary footnotes, things like "cursor" said, annoyed. Note however the possibility that these books originally appeared in the 80s.

"I Had Brain Surgery, What's Your Excuse?" (Suzy Becker)
I hereby open this biography Department. I read it more and more lately. This is funny and entertaining, despite the weighty subject.

"Composing a Life" (Mary Catherine Bateson)
had bought the mine because Suzy Becker had mentioned it.

"With a Daughter's Eye" (Mary Catherine Bateson)

Apparently I had "Composing a Life" fallen. These are the memories of Margaret Mead and Gregory Bateson. Since I've also studied anthropology, I had to read the simple.

"Shadow March, Volume I" (Tad Williams)

I love Tad Williams, not least because all of his novels are so nice and thick. This one was a little tough at first, but I am waiting for part 2

"Floor Sample" (Julia Cameron)

By Julia Cameron I have read almost everything, which is one of my heroines. This memoir (yes, again) read very interesting and show facets that are not seen in her other books.

"Wintersmith (Terry Pratchett)

Terry Pratchett is the only author other than JK Rowling, whose books I allow myself to buy a hardcover edition, because I can not wait that long. I love, love, and love the Discworld novels, especially those with the witches, and so of course the Tiffany Aching books.

I know I've re-read in any case, the three Tiffany Aching books by Terry Pratchett, but probably a few of his other books. I read the whole Discworld series again and again. As I have read CJ Cherryh, I re-read a few books and Foreigner-I know I'm all Mrs. Pollifax novels I read again and two other novels by Dorothy Gilman (a psychic), and in any case, "Gaudy Night" by Dorothy L. Sayers. What gave me the feeling that they are no longer a man of books, was the fact that I read less fiction than usual and that "Until I Find You" for half a year is on my bookshelf. I still remember how I found it in a real bookstore (not at Amazon, where I buy almost all other books) and I had been really looking forward to read it. Then, every time I went back to read something, I thought, "Oh, ne, that is so heavy, I would rather read something else." Currently I'm reading "Running from the deity" by Alan Dean Foster. I think it's not overly exciting, but because it is part of a series ...

When I say I read the book right now, then I lie, because the books I read right now are: "Take Time for Your Life," "Ask Your Spirit Guides", "Head First HTML", "Buddhism Guide "(Wow, one in German!)," Getting Things Done "(highly recommended) and" History of Early Witchcraft ". Uh.

So, how many books you've read last year? Something interesting? I find it rather amusing that I have read only two books in German. No wonder that I blog in English. Sometimes I even think in English. What do you think I should about the books I read, write here what? My writing buddy Adrian do that and I think it's always very interesting to see what the people that I like, lies at the heart.

Remove Sealer From Slate

food for almost eighty people eat

Un means this time, "fast" really fast, not halfway (I have a record of my inclination, as things "almost ready" have to place when in reality they are only half done. The food, to which I am referring to was the end of October prepared. In an attempt to make the holidays friendly and NaNoWriMo get through alive, I've tried the first time Mega Menu-Mailer . I have one of the menus by Leanne Ely's website bought tons of fresh ingredients purchased, they chopped and everything packed in freezer bags. Then it moved into the freezer, and since the beginning of November we have eaten it. There are two meals in the freezer, but I think that will be just as good as the other 18th
Sweet and sour fish
(the only meal where I thought to photograph it)
Before I forget, here are the most unique things I've learned about the whole thing : before freezing should all spread very thin. If you do like me nice thick chunks of all the meat before It is in the chest, one has at the end of frozen food that is not thawed after 48 hours in the refrigerator. Not one of these meals was cooked, but are still partially frozen. So, my advice to heart, makes flat packs. The second is, and rather less important, point: Measure the ingredients really down, do not think: "Oh, that's about half a teaspoon garlic, whatever." and then in every meal too much garlic, and there are some that you hastily throw garlic powder in the bag must be because of the freshness has gone out.

Before I tell you, it tasted like (do not worry, I will not go into detail), I must say that I once again all 've done wrong - as usual. Everything that should be grilled, was fried. All that is in a "Slow Cooker" (electric Gartopf takes hours to cook the food) should be cooked, landed in a pressure cooker. In Germany there is no glad ware container (which also should be) or Alfredo sauce in the glass. And because I was not clear that there are in Germany canned salmon, I used instead of tuna. And a word of advice: never try to cook something that was previously rolled in honey! The honey is now black and burned. The meat tasted but still good but the sauce was, uh, not suitable for human consumption. And another thing: If you decide make "Crock Pot Jambalaya" in the pressure cooker does the orange juice mixture not in the pot. I repeat: do not give orange sauce in the pressure cooker. They burned completely. The pig tasted smoked clear. Good, but smoked. In that case we could replace the sauce, because we once again had all the ingredients for it in the house.

We still have not eaten anything, because we occasionally also have cooked something else, and since we are only 2 1 / 2 people, we eat most of these meals for two days. All was well until delicate, except the "Chicken Pot Pie Lasagna. But I would not accuse Leanne, because I already mentioned the Alfredo sauce for a simple Wikipedia articles have improvised and then had to take more butter and milk instead of half cream, because I had bought too little. Then the whole was seasoned with a dispute during cooking, the lunch was finished late and then my husband refused to eat it, because we had quarreled, and because milk was in it. (No, he is not a Jew, which has something to do with the Italian dining philosophy, after the milk is never allowed to do in salty food.) We ate at the lasagna for two days and then have the other half is thrown away.

As I said, everything tasted great, but it was overall a bit too meaty for our taste. Above all, too much pork, which we use usually do not eat. I also have the strong suspicion that half of the steaks would have been enough, because they were huge. One day we have the cashew steak eaten, then we have cut the remaining meat into small pieces and mixed with red pepper and cooked it with rice and Asian back a day later we made it into a pasta dish.

So, for those who want to like to try, I can only recommend it, cooking and meal planning, in the period much easier. Oh, and the cooking itself usually lasted about half an hour per meal. That's okay, and the respective second day was of course faster because we have since warmed up only. Since we still have something left, the effort has paid off clearly that put everything together. Maybe we'll do it but then in late September and throw a few bags of chopped vegetables in the chest, so that we can insert in between even a few vegetarian meals. The next time I use definitely my food processor. I feel pretty stupid before, to have not thought about before, but I never use because it is such a huge part is that you can touch so as not less than two cake batters at one time. If the amount for a cake swirls of beaters on a little flour. Next time I will convert all measurements before. Liquid ounces in milliliters, pounds to kilograms and so on. And then I write this in the recipes, so I have to do that again.

I am now planning our food back to the old ways. Wednesdays I can sit down and try to think of five or six healthy, tasty dishes that cook quickly, and then we eat three times a week, pasta with sauce or frozen pizza. I will miss it, a whole trunk full of food to have, I have to pull out only. However, 24 hours in advance, which is not so simple. You end each meal with a discussion about what there is to eat the next day. (In our household we all a debate.) But then one has already something prepared. And if something unexpected happens and you do not cook the next day, that's no problem. Because everything was frozen so fresh, you can also cook on the second day yet. Especially when it is frozen in the middle still.
